The damage and destruction here on the coast is still overwhelming, even after more than two years since the storm. What we are seeing most is vacant lots, concrete slabs, driveways and steps that lead nowhere, empty foundations, travel trailers, FEMA trailers, swimming pools with plastic fences around them because that's all that survived, and many parking lots and signs with no businesses to go with them. Every home and business along U.S 90, plus many others inland, were damaged or destroyed. Some have been repaired or rebuilt, but the majority of the work is yet to be done. I can't imagine how it must have looked two years ago.
