Grandiose House!!!!

Betty took me to meet a friend of hers in Lafayette and to see her house, which is more like a mansion! She is a real estate broker and her husband is a retired Assistant U.S. attorney. Sweethearts since high school, they built this magnificent house, adding features "as they could afford it." She was their contractor, hiring cabinetmakers, artists, etc. to achieve goals and ideas gleaned from previous houses and travel. However, Brenda herself is very talented--she designed and made all of the draperies and bedroom ensembles, among other things. Recently, she had the four pillars on the front of the house replaced with larger ones to match the four in the back, which further increased its majestic grandeur! Brenda is such a nice person--just an unassuming, down-to-earth Cajun lady who knows what she wants. She had us rolling with stories on the building of this house.
