Recent Fire at Gulf Shores State Park

About a week, maybe a week and a half ago, we heard there was a serious fire at the Gulf State Park, said to be started accidentally by a camper cooking on a SP-installed grill.  Today we went by on SR-2 and took these photos.  We were surprised to see that there were still many smoldering areas!

What a shame this had to happen.  Along Canal Road, by the Wharf, you can even SMELL a burnt odor.
