Botanical Garden Part 3

These pics are from Sep. 5 . . . the last installment from the Botanical Garden in Key West.  It was really more like a jungle than a "garden"-- there were so many trails, at one time I thought I was lost!

Royal Poinciana tree.

The Semaphore Pricklypear.

Allspice tree.

Kalishek:  What kind of bird is this??  (PS--On 9/12 he tells me that this appears to be a Mockingbird . . . not some exotic, tropical bird!)

American Beautyberry.

The beautiful Coontie (FL, Bahamas, Cayman Is., Cuba, PR).

Petticoat palm.

Coontie.

Caribbean Trumpettree.

Bailey's palm (Cuba).

Borhidis guano palm.

A chug boat that Cubans used to immigrate to Florida.

Several chugs are on disploay at the Botanical Garden.

And . . . the great finale of my birthday was my lobster dinner cooked to perfection by WC, along with garlic/butter-sauteed spinach!!!
