Running from Isaac!

We left Key West about 11:30 a.m. today (mandatory evacuation of RVs from the base) and made it to Miami (southwest side) about 4:30.  Lots of rain and slow traffic at times.  We are staying at Larry & Penny Thompson campground which is a Miami-Dade County park.  http://www.miamidade.gov/parks/parks/larry_penny.asp. 

We stayed here before and really liked it but this time is a bit different.  They now have closed the back part and are crowding everyone into the front "pods" to conserve utilities.  I have to wonder--if this is the "off season" why don't we get "off season" RATES??  It is now $33 to stay here.  Whatever, we will be gone in the a.m.

 

Not sure, but this seems to be a Live Oak tree laden with some type of bromelaid plants!  I neve seen anything like it!!
