Flooding of Naval Support Activity at Millington on May 2, 2010

I'm sure everyone has seen this photo by now . . . it took me this long to have time to figure out how to save and post it.  This has really been awful for so many people!  This is something just totally unexpected, especially not being on the coast or "that" close to a major river.  But 14" of rain in about a day and a half was too much for the large creek that borders the south side of both the base and town of Millington.  (Click to enlarge.)

The base has been closed to all but "essential personnel."  I undestand that the Commissary, Exchange and Package Store opened back up yesterday (5/6).
